Credit under 660: what your options really are

Most HELOC lenders want a 660. Below that, home equity investments and debt resolution stay on the table. Waiting can be the cheapest move.

A self-reported score is not an underwrite. It is enough to stop showing you products you are unlikely to get. Most HELOC lenders want 660 or better. Under that line, a HELOC is usually a decline today.

Home equity investments typically start around 500 and do not run an income check the way a lender does. The cost is a share of future value, not a monthly payment.

If the reason you came is unsecured debt, resolution programs do not need a minimum score. They will mark the credit file. They will not add a second lien.

If you can wait 6–12 months and raise the score, a cheaper HELOC may open. If you cannot wait, pick the product whose trade-off you can live with, not the one with the nicest headline.
